Education
- Preferably a graduate of law, legal management, labor or industrial relations, paralegal course/training
Qualifications
- At least five (5) years experience in a reputable law firm with experience in handling labor cases and working knowledge of the Labor Code of the Philippines.

Duties and Responsibilities
Position Mandate: To ensure Smart's compliance with all labor laws and regulations, and protect the Company against labor risks.
Industrial Peace - Promotes industrial peace within the organization.
- Scans the organization for possible conflict & grievance areas
- Proactively resolves issues to prevent them from becoming a grievance or a case
- Ensures the organization's compliance with labor laws, standards and regulations
Labor Education - Assists in facilitating learning on labor-related matters
- Assists and, when necessary, facilitates cascades on employee discipline and other LR-related matters (e.g., new employees orientation)
- Guides internal partners on employee discipline and other labor-related matters
Employee Discipline and Labor Compliance - Ensures compliance with the Code of Discipline and disciplinary process
- Assists in ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, internal policies and rules, including, but not limited to, the Code of Discipline
- When necessary, conducts initial case assessment on disciplinary cases and discipline-related incidents, and initial review of disciplinary notices and documentation, including Notices to Explain and Notices of Decision, among others
- Coordinates with internal/external stakeholders on LR-related matters and concerns, including disciplinary cases, discipline-related incidents, compliance requirements
- Assists and, when necessary, facilitates the conduct of administrative hearings
Administrative and Reportorial Duties
- Assists in monitoring disciplinary/compliance cases
- Prepares/updates an inventory of disciplinary cases, labor compliance cases and complaints on labor-related matters, including records keeping and maintenance of disciplinary case files, minutes of administrative hearings, minutes of meetings
- Submits the reports, summaries, inventories to the LR Manager for review/endorsement
When necessary, other tasks/duties relevant to the above, including, but not limited to, employee discipline and labor compliance.
